Tri Corner FEED
Food Equity, Education, and Distribution
Nourishing our community with equitable food access and security
We believe that food is a basic human right and that everyone should have access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food. Through education, advocacy, and collaboration, we seek to empower individuals and our Tri Corner community to develop resilient food systems that support the health and well-being of all people and the planet.
Food equity
Food equity is the principle that all people should have access to healthy, affordable, and culturally appropriate food. Unfortunately, food inequities are pervasive, and systemic issues such as poverty, inequality, and environmental degradation often perpetuate these disparities.
At the heart of our work is a commitment to food equity, which means addressing these underlying systemic issues while also promoting sustainable and regenerative farming practices and supporting local food producers.
Food education
Educational resources are a crucial component of building a more just and equitable food system. By providing these resources, we can help create a more informed and engaged public that is better equipped to advocate for positive change in our food system.
Food distribution
We aim to promote access to locally produced, nutrient-dense food, which requires the collective efforts of our community. We are committed to working collaboratively with our community members to identify and address the obstacles and limitations within our food distribution system. We will work with health providers, food service providers, farmers, chefs, and other community stakeholders to develop solutions that strengthen our food system and remove barriers related to food production, storage, and distribution.
